Welcome

Chambers of Michael Hubbard QC

One Paper Buildings is a leading specialist set of London Chambers which has been established in the Temple for more than 50 years offering a unique, efficient and friendly service in London and across all circuits.

The strength and depth of experience amongst our members enables One Paper Buildings to undertake all types of criminal work. Much of our work involves serious crime and members frequently appear in the most complex and high profile cases. Most recently four members appeared in the Soham murder trial at the Central Criminal Court.

Members are often instructed as Leading Counsel in complex cases and have particular expertise in money laundering and confiscation proceedings. Junior members are frequently instructed as junior counsel, providing expert analysis and dedicated case preparation. In addition to a large number of defence solicitors and the Crown Prosecution Service, members are instructed by a wide variety of other prosecution agencies, including HM Revenue and Customs, the Office of Fair Trading and other regulatory bodies. In addition, junior members regularly prosecute and defend at Magistrates' and Crown courts in London and across the South-Eastern and Western circuits.

Members have acted at every level of the criminal justice system which has included a number of appearances before the High Court in applications for judicial review and at all levels of appellate jurisdiction including the House of Lords. Members are also regularly instructed in other related areas including health and safety, licensing and gaming, disciplinary tribunals and Courts Martial.

Rooted in standards of excellence, Chambers was one of the first sets to be awarded the 'Quality Mark' from the Legal Services Commission.
