AUDREY ARCHER has a wide range of experience defending, and prosecuting, in criminal cases. She is regularly instructed in the Crown Court and has also appeared in the Court of Appeal. Miss Archer has also been instructed in numerous Youth Court cases deemed to be exceptionally grave, serious or complex. Her particular interest lies in drugs offences. To date, her experience in this area of crime has included:

Representing defendants charged with supplying class A drugs. Most recently, Miss Archer has defended a number of persons charged under a large-scale drugs operation in Hampshire – Operation Phoenix.

The prosecution of prisoners involved in supplying class A drugs within prison. [For example, R v Pittman (2007): class A supply at Whitemoor prison]

General prosecution of persons charged with supplying class A drugs.

Miss Archer also has experience of defending persons in the Crown Court charged with a wide range of offences. Most recently, she has been instructed in cases involving:

Theft by employee: Representing employee’s of large reputable companies accused of stealing considerable sums of money, and items of value.

Grievous Bodily Harm with intent. Actual Bodily Harm.

Robbery.
Violent disorder. Affray.

Miss Archer has been instructed as junior counsel in cases of serious and complex crime, including, cases involving historic sex offences, violent disorder, and serious offences against the person. Miss Archer also undertakes pro bono work in reviewing death row cases in the Caribbean.

R-v-Conway (2008) EWCA Crim 845
Successful appeal involving the consideration of compensation orders.

R-v-Jobarteh and Others
Junior prosecution counsel. Ten defendants, nine of whom were youths.

R-v-Howard
Junior prosecution counsel. Complex historic sex abuse cases whereby the offences dated back to 1962.
